September 29, 2009

Clive DuttonThe Birmingham Post is running a revealing two-part interview with the city’s ex regeneration chief Clive Dutton.

Dutton left his Birmingham position last week to take up his new position as the London Borough of Newham’s executive director for Regeneration, Planning and Property.

In the first part of a two-part interview Dutton explains how he helped to get the refurbishment of New Street Station on track, drew up the Big City Plan and rescued a failing planning department that came close to being taken over by the government.

In the second part Dutton talks of plans to plant a million trees, create a four-acre lake in Birmingham city centre and turn Great Charles Street into a Parisian-style boulevard
