Tower Hamlets gets animated about planning

August 20, 2010

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets has produced a new short, animated film to explain to residents how they can have their say on local planning issues…

Using two animated characters (a man and a dog), the film walks viewers through the planning process from start to finish.

It begins with the two characters seeing an invitation to attend a consultation event, and follows them as they attend the sessions and provide input along the way until the final development is complete.

Nice idea, if it manages to get people involved.

Seems like a nice way to get toddlers involved in the planning process.

Good animation with just one concern. When the planner is writing up the comments on the computer he doesn’t include the suggestion of the protagonist which will tend to reinforce stereotypes that comments are not listened to or just take what they want to hear and its not worth commenting at all!
